Itinerary Detail

Day 1  Leh

Upon arrival in Leh, our representative will meet you and provide an assisted transfer to your hotel. Once you reach the hotel, complete the check-in formalities. The remaining part of the day is for rest to get acclimatized to the high altitude (3500 meters/11800 ft) and low air pressure in Leh. Strolling around the local markets during the evening may be a good idea. Overnight stay is arranged at the Hotel.

Day 2  Leh

After breakfast, you will proceed to a 68 km ride to the 1000-year-old paintings of Alchi Monastery. Here, delve into the region’s rich history and interact with the monks. Then, continue your ride to visit the famous Maitreya Buddha statue at Likir Monastery. The monastery offers panoramic views of the surreal landscape and the snowcapped Himalayan mountains. Further, drive past the confluence of the Indus & Zanskar rivers at Nimoo, Magnetic Hill, and the military Hall of Fame. After an eventful day, retreat to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3  Khardung La Pass – Thiksey and Hemis Monasteries

Day 3 morning of a 5-day trip to Ladakh starts with a visit to Khardung La Pass, which is snuggled at an elevation of 18360 ft. It is the world’s highest motorable pass. During the afternoon, you will have the unique opportunity to meet a local family in Stok village, where you can savor delicious homemade butter tea and barley drinks, a traditional Ladakhi treat.

Later, visit the Thiksey Monastery, which houses the most photographed statue of Maitreya Buddha in India. Hemis Monastery will be the last stopover of the day. It is also one of the most famous monasteries in the region. Enjoy the scenic views of the valley from here and spend some time in tranquillity and peace. Return to the hotel by evening and enjoy the delicious dinner there.

Day 4  Pangong Lake (Leh)

In the early morning of the penultimate day, an excursion is scheduled to Pangong Lake, a 135 km drive from Leh. The Pangong Lake, a natural wonder, is 140km long and 3-5 km wide – more than half of which lies in Tibetan territory. The lake’s crystal-clear blue waters, set against the backdrop of majestic mountains, will leave you in awe. It is famous as it is the same where the climax scene of the superhit Bollywood movie 3 Idiots featuring Kareena Kapoor and Aamir Khan was shot.

After spending some time at the lake, return to Leh by evening. You can use the remaining time to explore local markets and look for a decent bargain. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5  Leh – Delhi

Your Leh Ladakh 4-night, 5-day itinerary concludes today. Begin your day early, then pack your belongings and complete the check-out formalities. Further, you’ll get an assisted transfer to the Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport to board your flight for your onward destination.
